Teaching kids about the scientific method using apple slices.

Our most recent Parent Meeting was a lot of fun, with an interactive presentation focused on everyday activities you can do with your preschoolers that also touch on one (or more) of the elements of S.T.E.A.M. (Science/Technology/Engineering/the Arts/Mathematics). Participants rotated through stations led by fellow parents, and the Oak Room was filled with neat ideas to try at home, mixed with lots of laughter and smiles. Thank you to our “S.T.E.A.M. Punks” (aka our awesome volunteer presenters who made this evening possible) and to all our parents who came ready to try something different!

How to encourage those little engineers? Invite them to build a city of their own! Grace parents created quite their own impressive town at S.T.E.A.M. Night.

“Jungle James” brought a sampling of backyard wonders for a visit, as we learned about animals and plants we can explore with our children just by stepping outside! (Here, Miss Marlene gets up close and personal with a salamander)
